Applications for Fall 2027 at Nevada Early College & Career Academy (NECCA) open Thursday, November 12, 2026, giving Clark County families - and specifically North Las Vegas families - the opportunity to apply to a new tuition-free public charter high school for grades 9 through 12.

Fall 2027 will be NECCA’s first school year. The inaugural class will include only 180 available seats, making this an exciting milestone for students, families, and the local community.

Applications open on Thursday, November 12, 2026

NECCA’s Fall 2027 application window begins on Thursday, November 12, 2026. Families interested in joining NECCA’s first year are encouraged to mark the date now and begin gathering the materials needed to apply.

The application process is designed to be simple and clear. Families do not need to rush to submit the moment applications open, but they should plan ahead so they can complete the application during the open application period.

All applications submitted during the open application period will receive equal consideration in the lottery, no matter when they are submitted during that window.

What families need to apply

NECCA has kept the application process intentionally straightforward. Families can prepare now by gathering a few basic items before applications open.

Families will need:

  1. The name, home address, phone number, and email address of at least one parent or legal guardian.

  2. The student’s name, date of birth, and incoming grade level for Fall 2027.

Having these items ready can help families complete the application with confidence once the window opens.

The transcript is collected as part of the application process. It is not used to determine admission based on grades, academic ability, or academic performance.

NECCA does not select students based on academic characteristics, disability, English proficiency, or transcript performance. If a lottery is needed, admission offers are determined through the lottery process described below.

How the NECCA lottery works

If NECCA receives more applications than available seats, the school will hold its enrollment lottery on Monday, February 1, 2027.

A lottery is a random selection process used when there are more interested students than seats available. Since NECCA will have only 180 seats for its inaugural year, a lottery may be needed if applications exceed that number.

Most applicants receive one entry in the lottery.

Some students may receive extra weight in the lottery. Students who are enrolled in a Nevada public school receiving a 1-Star or 2-Star NSPF rating at the time they apply receive two entries instead of one.

This is called a weighted lottery.

A weighted lottery gives qualifying students an additional entry, but it does not guarantee admission. It also does not mean students are selected based on grades, test scores, or academic performance. The process remains a lottery.

Families will be notified on February 1 about whether their student has been offered a seat at NECCA.

What happens if a student is not offered a seat right away

If a student is not initially offered a seat, the family may choose to join NECCA’s waitlist.

The waitlist gives families another opportunity to be considered if seats become available later. Students who join the waitlist will be placed in waitlist order.

As seats open, NECCA will contact families according to that order.

Being on the waitlist does not mean the journey is over. It means the student remains in line for a possible future opening.

NECCA will serve students in grades 9 through 12

NECCA is a new tuition-free public charter high school in North Las Vegas serving grades 9 through 12.

For families looking ahead to Fall 2027, this first application season marks the beginning of something new for the community. The inaugural year will bring together students who will help shape the school’s first traditions, first milestones, and first graduating path.

With just 180 seats available, families who are interested should pay close attention to the application timeline and prepare early. Seats will be available at every grade level.

A simple way to get ready before applications open

Families can take a few easy steps now:

  • Attend a virtual open session between now and November 12.

  • Mark Thursday, November 12, 2026, on the family calendar.

  • Set aside proof of residency, such as a utility bill.

  • Make sure parent or legal guardian contact information is current.

These steps can make application day easier and help families feel ready when the window opens.
