Three Years in the Making: NECCA Academy Approved to Open Fall 2027

It’s official: NECCA Academy is coming to North Las Vegas.

After three years of planning, listening, refining, building partnerships, and believing in what could be possible for students, NECCA Academy has received unanimous approval from the Nevada State Public Charter School Authority to open our doors for the 2027–2028 school year.

We couldn’t be more excited to finally say it: we’re opening!

Why NECCA?

NECCA was created around a simple belief: students deserve more pathways to success.

For too many families, the traditional high school experience is the only option they know exists, even when it may not be the best fit for their student. Over the past three years, we have talked with thousands of families, students, educators, and community members, and we’ve heard a consistent message: families want options.

They want a high school that prepares students for college and careers while giving them the opportunity to earn college credit, explore their interests, and begin building their future before graduation.

That is what NECCA is designed to do.

A Different Kind of High School

NECCA Academy will be a college-focused high school serving students in North Las Vegas, with a model built around dual enrollment, personalized learning, and real-world career pathways.

Students will have the opportunity to take college courses while in high school through our partnerships with Nevada System of Higher Education institutions, including College of Southern Nevada, Truckee Meadows Community College, and Great Basin College.

Our goal is not simply to help students graduate high school.

It’s to help them graduate with momentum.

For some students, that may mean significant college credit. For others, it may mean exploring a career pathway, developing technical skills, or discovering a field they never knew was possible.

And for every student, it means having a team of adults who know them, support them, and are invested in what comes next.

From an Idea to a School

Getting to this point has taken perseverance.

The NECCA journey began with an idea—and a lot of questions. What if we created a school that made college more accessible? What if students could experience college-level learning while still having the support of a high school community? What if families had a school choice option specifically designed around flexibility, opportunity, and individual student needs?

Over the last three years, we have worked to turn those questions into a real school.

We have built partnerships. Engaged with families and community organizations. Developed our academic and operational plans. Participated in the rigorous charter approval process. And, most importantly, continued listening and learning along the way.

That work culminated in unanimous approval from the SPCSA.

We are incredibly grateful to the Authority, our partners, our supporters, and everyone who has helped us get here.

Now the Real Work Begins

Between now and Fall 2027, there is still a lot to do.

We’ll be building our team, preparing our facility, continuing to develop partnerships, engaging families, and preparing to welcome our founding students.

Most importantly, we’ll continue listening to the North Las Vegas community as we build NECCA.

Our first students will be our founding class.

They will help shape the culture, traditions, and identity of this school from day one.

And we can’t wait to meet them.

Fall 2027 Starts Here

If you’re a student or family in North Las Vegas looking for a different kind of high school experience, we hope you’ll follow along.

NECCA Academy will open its doors in Fall 2027, and we’re just getting started.

A new pathway is coming to North Las Vegas.

And we’re so excited to build it with you.

Welcome to NECCA.

The future starts here.
