A Shared Purpose in North Las Vegas: NECCA Academy and Nevada Partners
Updated: 3 days ago
North Las Vegas families deserve high-quality school options that connect learning to real opportunity. That belief sits at the center of a new relationship between Nevada Early College & Career Academy, known as NECCA Academy, and Nevada Partners, two organizations with distinct roles and a shared commitment to the future of local students.
NECCA Academy is preparing to open in Fall 2027 as a new, tuition-free public charter high school serving grades 9 through 12. During its inaugural 2027–2028 school year, NECCA will operate from the Nevada Partners Education Center at 690 W. Lake Mead Boulevard in North Las Vegas.

NECCA Academy brings a new high school option to North Las Vegas
NECCA Academy was created to help meet the need for more high-quality educational opportunities in historically underserved North Las Vegas communities. The school was unanimously authorized by the Nevada State Public Charter School Authority, or SPCSA, on August 27, 2026. It will welcome 180 students in its first year.
As a public charter high school, NECCA will be tuition-free and open to students in grades 9 through 12. Its mission is clear: to ensure every student graduates academically proficient, with a plan, a purpose, and a path forward.
That mission is both ambitious and practical. It recognizes that students need more than credits on a transcript. They need strong academic skills. They need guidance. They need exposure to college and career options before senior year. They also need adults who help them make sense of those options and build a plan that fits their goals.
NECCA’s model is built around three core parts.
Early College & Career Pathways
Students can begin earning college credit as early as ninth grade. They will also have opportunities to explore skilled trades and pursue pathways that may lead to an Associate degree or other postsecondary options.
This early start can help students see what is possible. For some, that may mean building toward a college degree. For others, it may mean discovering a trade, credential, or career path that brings purpose to their learning. In both cases, the goal is to make high school feel connected to life after graduation.
Flexible Hybrid Learning
NECCA’s model combines online coursework, twice-weekly in-person Student Success classes, and college learning experiences. This flexible structure is designed to support personalized learning while still creating steady connection, guidance, and accountability.
Hybrid learning works best when it is paired with strong support. NECCA’s in-person Student Success classes are intended to create that anchor. Students will have a regular place to check in, build skills, and receive guidance as they move through their coursework and future planning.
Individualized Student Support
NECCA will provide personalized academic planning, consistent guidance, and opportunities for students to build the confidence and self-direction they need beyond high school.
That support is not an extra feature. It is central to the school’s design. Many students have big goals but need help turning those goals into steps. A personalized plan can help a student understand which courses to take, which college credits to pursue, which career pathway to explore, and what support they need along the way.
NECCA will open in Fall 2027, leasing classroom space inside Nevada Partners for the launch year.
Nevada Partners is an established North Las Vegas community organization with a long-standing focus on workforce development, education, economic mobility, and helping individuals and families build greater economic independence.
For NECCA, leasing classroom space within Nevada Partners to launch our 2027–2028 school year creates a connection between a new public school option and an organization already rooted in service to North Las Vegas families.
That connection is especially important because NECCA’s educational vision aligns with many of the values Nevada Partners has carried for years. Both organizations understand that education and economic opportunity are deeply linked. A student’s high school experience can affect college access, workforce readiness, income options, and long-term family stability.
For families, this kind of alignment can matter. When a school begins in a setting associated with workforce pathways, education, and community support, the message is clear: the goal is not only to help students finish high school. The goal is to help them prepare for what comes next.

The relationship is rooted in shared purpose and clear responsibilities
NECCA Academy and Nevada Partners share a commitment to expanding educational access, economic mobility, and opportunity for North Las Vegas families. That shared purpose is what makes the relationship meaningful.
At the same time, the roles of the two organizations are separate and clearly defined.
NECCA Academy is an independently governed public charter school that holds its own charter contract with the Nevada State Public Charter School Authority. Through its governing board and school leadership, NECCA is solely responsible for school governance, management, staffing, academic programming, daily operations, regulatory compliance, and student outcomes. Nevada Partners is providing the facility that will serve as NECCA’s home during its inaugural year, and Nevada Partners is not the charter holder, governing authority, management organization, or school operator.
This distinction protects clarity for families, students, staff, and the community. NECCA is accountable for the school. Nevada Partners is supporting the launch by providing a place for the school to operate.
That kind of clarity allows both organizations to do what they do best. NECCA can focus on building and operating a high-quality public charter high school. Nevada Partners can continue its broader community work while offering a meaningful setting for NECCA’s first year.
This is a relationship based on alignment, not overlap. It connects two missions without confusing the responsibilities tied to each one.
Why this matters for North Las Vegas students and families
The need for strong education options in North Las Vegas is real. Families want schools that prepare students for graduation, but also for choices after graduation. Students want to understand how their work in ninth grade connects to a career, a college program, a trade, or a larger goal.
NECCA Academy is being designed with that connection in mind.
A student entering ninth grade at NECCA will not have to wait until junior or senior year to start thinking about the future. From the beginning, the school will introduce pathways that connect academics to college credit, skilled trades, and postsecondary planning.
That early exposure can change the way students experience high school. A class is no longer just a requirement. It becomes part of a larger path. A support session is not just a check-in. It becomes a chance to adjust the plan, solve a problem, and keep moving forward.
For families, a tuition-free model also matters. Public access means students can pursue a strong academic and career-connected experience without tuition as a barrier. That access supports the broader goal both NECCA and Nevada Partners value: helping more young people build futures with greater choice and stability.
The school’s inaugural year will be intentionally focused. With 180 students, NECCA will have the opportunity to build a strong culture from the start. Early school culture matters. The first students and families help shape traditions, expectations, and identity.
For North Las Vegas, this launch brings a new option to a community that has long deserved more pathways to college, careers, and economic mobility.
